Banded King Shoemaker Butterfly

Lepidopterists claim the name "Shoemaker" came about due to the anvil-shape of this butterfly's head when it is still a caterpillar. It also flies pretty fast!

Environment 3
Common

Where Wanderwood Wilds' path meets easel’s art, or the bridge’s end, a butterfly darts.

During the day's light, find this kingly cobbler in its flight.

$8

Cordelian Butterfly

Few realize the famed Captain Rodrigo De Pablo (a pirate) was also one of the greatest lepidopterists of his time! He was rather clumsy and stumbled upon a host of new butterfly species (on accident, mind you) when sailing the world and visiting distant shores. In total, he found and named over 14 new butterflies, but his favorite was the Cordelian Butterfly, which he named for his love, Princess Cordelia of House Thebe. He wrote, "As this butterfly flutters by, its wings echo the lilac depths of her gaze and the silken grace of her gown, a tribute to my cherished princess."

Environment 3
Common

Along Jellyfish Junction's shores in glimmering light, a pirate's lover takes her flight.

Spotted daily, in lilac attire, she is a princess whose legend never tires.

$8

Dina Yellow Butterfly

Yellow butterflies often symbolize positivity and hope—though all butterflies often represent transformation. This sweet little butterfly loves nectar and warm climates.

Environment 3
Common

In Crystal Valley, where treasures unfold, miss Dina floats like sun and gold.

Spotted in the midday gleam, find this beauty by the miner's stream.

$8

Glasswing Butterfly

Most butterflies have wing patterns that mimic eyes or creatures to ward off predators, but the Glasswing Butterfly has transparent wings that help it blend into the environment without need of fancy coloration. This is a rare trait amongst butterflies. They also taste nasty!

Environment 3
Common

In Wanderwood Wilds' path near the waterfall’s gleam, a butterfly's wings shimmer, nearly unseen.

Seek in the day's gentle light, amidst the foliage, a translucent sight.

$8

Goliath Silk Moth

From the time the Goliath Silk Moth is a wiggly caterpillar until it is fully grown, it is indeed quite large compared to other moths. What does a moth so large have to watch out for? Owls and bats who also patrol the night skies.

Environment 3
Common

In Crystal Valley and Jellyfish Junction, at sun's fall, a Goliath of moths heeds night’s call.

Nightly when most Sims dream, seek this moth where the city lights gleam.

$8

Richmond Birdwing Butterfly

This butterfly can only be found in Gibbi Point. They are very strong, elegant fliers and have a complex courtship ritual.

Environment 3
Common

In Wanderwood Wilds where the Rangers reside, a Birdwing's fluttering is hard to hide.

Search in bushes, and flowers too, near the station, a black, yellow, teal hue.

$8

Grim's-Head Hawkmoth

The Grim's-head Hawkmoth received its name due to the pattern on its thorax that vaguely resembles a Sim's skull. These moths are known to be strong fliers who prefer the night.

Environment 3
Uncommon

On Jellyfish Junction shores, when the moon is new, a moth gathers for a bioluminescent view.

With death’s embrace and the Reaper’s grace, find this moth in its haunting space.

$12

Jorjan Birdwing Butterfly

Lepidopterists agree that the Jorjan Birdwing is one of the feistiest butterflies in existence. They flutter and perch sweetly near loved ones, then twitch their wings in a manner that is known as "butterfly sass." Those who can interpret these movements might find their thoughts quite disarming—yet often hilarious. Their beautiful, purple wings are frequently spotted near locations families gather, revealing that these butterflies prefer such environments to any other.

Environment 3
Uncommon

At a festival where young and old convene, miss butterfly Jorja joins the scene.

In purple grace, where meals abound, a butterfly who goes where friends are found.

$12

Owl Butterfly

These butterflies have huge eyespots on their wings that resemble an owl's eyes (hence the name). They can't fly very far, so it is easy for predators to catch them, but that's why they're more active during dusk. There are fewer predators around!

Environment 3
Uncommon

In Wanderwood Wilds, by the water's embrace, owl eyes hide in a leafy place.

A tower stands guard near where this mystery lies. Find it before the daylight dies.

$12

Sphinx Moth

This moth looks enough like a hummingbird that they're often mistaken for them. (Especially given that they like to hover next to flowers while drinking them.) Tricky moth!

Environment 3
Uncommon

At the fire festival’s heart, a mysterious sphinx plays its part.

Near the flame, in wilderness' domain, discover this moth where stories reign.

$12

Cryptid Moth

The origins of the Cryptid Moth spark debate among lepidopterists. This elusive nocturnal moth bears a striking resemblance to the Plumbirds in its natural habitat, and the Cryptid Moth is most often spotted following a Cryptid sighting. Some theorize these moths are attracted to the Cryptid due to their similar coloring, perhaps seeing it as one of their own. More fantastical theories propose that Cryptid Moths came from a giant Plumbird that exploded into many small moths.

Environment 3
Rare

In the dark of night on Crystal Valley's land, a Cryptid Moth lurks. The mystery expands.

In the foliage near the Plumbird’s lair, solve the quest to find it there.

$16

Jelly Butterflies

Although the first discovered Jelly Butterfly was affectionately named "Peanut" by lepidopterist Dr. A. Sandwich, the name has nothing to do with food! It was named for its translucent wings, which resemble a Jelly Fish's gelatinous form.

Environment 3
Rare

In Crystal Valley, by the Electric Lagoon, catch a Jellyfish to summon a butterfly or two.

Place in World to make them appear, and then watch as Jelly Butterflies flutter near.

$16

Magical Origami Butterfly

A rare butterfly that was born of lepidopterology, imagination, and just a dash of magic. Oh, also, paper. The paper was important.

Environment 3
Rare

Crafted in magic, to life it springs, a butterfly of paper spreads its wings.

Collect all others to see it thrive, placed in a habitat to come alive.

$16

Red Admiral Butterfly

This butterfly can't actually sail ships (a common misconception). The name is a shortened version of its previous name, "the Red Admirable." They're very territorial, and male butterflies who can fly better are more likely to attract a mate (due to their ability to drive off other males). Don't let that fool you, though. They're actually very calm and have even been known to land on Sims as a perch.

Environment 3
Rare

Begin with Toshie in Jellyfish Junction’s heart. The Melody of the Geyser is where you start.

Investigate and return, then Boulder Strike. Watch the Red Admiral take its flight.
